Registrar Transfer Information

As part of the transition, Netfirms will no longer be an accredited domain registrar; domains will be transferred from the Netfirms registrar account to our partner registrar Tucows. Partnering with a company to manage the registrar side of things will allow us to focus on improving our core hosting services and domain management tools — in essence, our only focus will now be your customer experience with us.

This transfer will have no effect on your domains or where they point, and there is no action required on your part. You will continue to manage all aspects of your domain through your Netfirms control panel, including renewals and new domain registrations, just as you do today.

For .CA Domains: The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has asked that we inform you that your CIRA registrar account is being transferred from Netfirms to Tucows. This transfer will have no impact on the status of your domains, and no action is required on your part. If you would like, you can review our registration agreement with Tucows; we will assume your acceptance of this agreement unless you take action to transfer your domain name to another provider prior to March 15, 2011. While Netfirms will no longer be your registrar, Netfirms will continue to serve as your web hosting and domain management company, and you will continue to manage all aspects of your domain through your Netfirms control panel, just as you do today. We encourage you to email us at transition@netfirms-inc.com if you have any questions or concerns regarding this registrar transfer.

For other domain extensions/TLDs: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has asked that we inform you that your ICANN registrar account is being transferred from Netfirms to Tucows.

Unused Domain Credits
If you currently have one or more credits for a new domain name registration, we encourage you to use them prior to March 15, 2011. Outstanding credits will not be carried over to the new hosting platform automatically. Reinforce your brand identity or protect yourself against visitor misspellings by using your domain credits to register alternate domain names.
